Russia-ASEAN: Animation Connect is an international animation project implemented with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the ASEAN Secretariat, and the Russian Animated Film Association (RAFA).

Over the course of one and a half years – from April 2026 to September 2027 – representatives from the animation industries of Russia and 11 ASEAN countries will collaborate, exploring markets, exchanging experiences, building partnerships, and creating a shared professional space.

The key event of the project is the ASEAN-Russia Animation Market forum, held as part of the International Animation Festival 'Animur' in Khabarovsk, October 1-4, 2026.


The project is complemented by online formats: a study of the animation markets from Russia and the ASEAN countries, the launch of a bilingual information platform, and the online workshop series ASEAN-Russia Animation Lab.
